Guided Smokehouse Tour
Visit the Connemara Smokehouse, the region’s oldest smokehouse established in 1979 by the Roberts family. Situated on the picturesque Bunowen Pier, this family-run business offers guided tours where you’ll learn about traditional smoking methods passed down through generations. - Guide dogs and service dogs are welcome in the shop and café but not the smokehouse (note dogs must be fully accredited and wearing an assistance dog jacket/vest upon entry)

Since the experience takes place in a working smokehouse and by the coastal pier, it’s recommended to wear comfortable shoes and warm clothing, as it can get cool and breezy.

While children are welcome, the tour is best suited for adults and older children who are interested in food, cooking techniques, and seafood. Young children should be supervised, as the tour takes place in a working smokehouse.
